A simple smile can save your day.
An understanding look will always say.
I know where you are I just past that way.
Take my hand today and lets us pray.

For wounds guide us to build our walls.
We raise them so strong and incredibly tall.
To KEEP OUT the pain and all our grief.
To stay away from everyone is our new belief.

Then when those bitter north winds blow.
It penetrates your structure and chills your soul.
For youíre a building too and itís up to you.
"You been paving a path that God canít use."

My way had become a trampled ground.
With you and heavens help I had found.
Iíve been fooling myself far too long.
Needing to forget I've been wronged.

Hearing the words you begin to pray.
Wondering if pain will stay at bay.
Holding your hand tells me Iím not alone.
Believing I was living right, but so dreadfully wrong.

Your hand clasp in mine my walls fall away.
What a radiant shine on my face today.
Remember a life that I once had lived.
Everyday now itís my turn to give.

And even though pain from humanity will return.
I remember your prayer, its now my turn.
The truth of the matter is the Hands that create.
Men build walls and a tree God did make.

The rest of my days I get on my knees.
For a hill with a tree called Calvary.
Thankful for a prayer that help me to believe.
In Someone superior then walls and grief.

Dear Dan, this poem really touched me deeply! More than words can say! I am not sure if my writing that God puts upon my heart helps you or not! But I feelin my heart that God sometimes use's my writing for a tool to help others draw near to him! If that to be the case, in this..May God'slove shine through to you through me! Only his will shallbe done! I am delightful that God use's me. This poem is very beautiful! Very inspirational to thy soul. " My soul! " May you have a very blessed night and contuine your journey growing in Christ, as I am doing every day!

Hugs to you my friend!
