Sweet Addiction
Sweet Addiction

I've had a full heart since the day we met.
For this, I will be forever in your debt.

But I cannot get enough, there's nothing I can do.
I become excited, just at the thought of you.

(A hopeless addict), This is what I have become.
As if I am floating adrift, my mind becomes numb.

Sometimes the withdrawals come and I feel pain.
The pain is counted not as a loss, but as gain.

At times the pain seems too much for me to bear.
But the pain is soothed just knowing that you care.

So lock me up and throw away the key.
Just don't take my sweet addiction away from me.

A plea of guilty is what I told the Judge.
And from that plea, I will never budge.

I am not to blame; it's all that I can do.
I cannot help it that I fell in love with you.

I know this addiction  well  =) It's the kind of ache you never want to lose, an addiction you never want to be cured of, so so sweet.   I adore this poem.
