Unchanging
Unchanging

Though many days have passed us by
And how swiftly the years seem to fly
Thoughts within are that of a young man
Of adventures and conquests yet to plan

Through glasses my eyes now peer
And grey hair drapes across my ear
I can still see your radiant loveliness
And I still crave your sweet caress

I move slower than when I was a boy
But your company I will always enjoy
These days every memory I may not recall
But when I am with you I still have a ball

The passage of time changes many things
But for your passion my heart still sings
This is as constant as the northern star
No matter who you may think you are

Ponder not into the mirror of your reflection
These eyes see you as a picture of perfection
Observe your reflection in your lovers eyes
And remember my love for you never dies.

Hi, Ham~!!!!  Love this, love the "never mind the age" thing, as I see for myself that love never fades no matter the grey hair~!!!  This is a lovely piece, glad I found it to savor with a cup of coffee....((And, has anyone told you that you have a wonderful smile~!!??))
Glad to find Ham, Margaret.....

Ham,
Very honest up front kind of poem.. we all age more every day ..but love never fads as long as you have love in your heart ..
LOve is what makes the world go around....

It's great to have you back again posting your poems.  ..."a heart constant as the northern star, for your passion my heart still sings, and a love that never dies"...touching lines. There is a playfulness in your poem...and it only shows your age when you speak of the gray draped around your ears...that's just a little vanilla frosting...and speaks of your character.  Your words are so true!  great rhyming verses...
