My mind is a library, cavernous, grand!
I wander the stacks with a list in my hand.
It's filed under Fiction, despite being true;
I'm looking again for those memories of you.

The shelves stretch forever above and beside;
How simple it is for one volume to hide . . .
My feet cast forth echoes to help lead the wayŚ
I'm looking again for your beauty today.

The floors are like mirrors and there are no walls.
I shouldn't look down; I've had too many falls.
I've always been running, but all seems the same;
I'm looking again for the day that you came.

The number card system is well out of dateŚ
Correcting the misfiles will just have to wait!
I haven't got time, there's too much to be found:
I'm looking again for you, printed and bound.

My mind is a library, musty and old . . .
I know you're there somewhere, or that's what I'm told.
I can't risk departure, I can't flag or fleeŚ
For if I don't find you, how can I find me?

"I'm looking again for you"...underneath all of the volumes is the you that is "printed and bound."  Somehow one must get rid of all the other debris it has collected within the mind so the essence of "you" can be safe and sound.  There is no time to correct the misfiles.  What was is gone... save who you are and be gone.  This was a very thought provoking write.  I love the idea that the mind is a library.  Well done, Loretta
