Emotional Rapture

I am gently awakened by a song from your soft voice

You sit by the window and carefully comb your hair

The only thing touching you is silken locks black as coal

Not wanting to intrude I lay in between now and then

The early sun surrounds your angelic face like a halo

Willingly caught in the rapture one fleeting moment in time

The sheets hold your body heat and a hypnotic fragrance

I breathe ever so deeply  your images hold me captive again

A fleeting moment perhaps but one anyone would love to wake up to. Nice!

I still haven't gotten to where I can express romantic feelings like that.  It's a dream that I eventually will get to where you are.      Thanks for a great example       gene

I like this, Steve. It comes across more sincere than some love poems. I almost felt a little bit the voyeur to the aftermath of this couple's lovemaking. I think the 2nd line and the last two lines drive that feeling.

As always...enjoyed
