Wounded Pride

A smile that I see every morning,
A laugh that makes me smile.
Nothing can tell you how much I love you,
Nothing in this world can take you from me.

You are my everything,
My superman and my kyptonite.
I love you with all my being,
Forever and more.

But I don't understand your type of justice,
Why you would want to leave my side.
I know you want to protect me,
But you don't have to leave me to do so.

I'll never understand, but my love for you is stronger then this,
I'll stand by you in battle even though I'll be a hundred miles apart.
I'll hold your hand,
This is where we will start.

A smile that I won't see every morning,
A laugh that aches my heart.
Nothing can tell you how much I love you,
Nothing in this world can take you from me.

I see you leave, turning your back,
I raise up my hand, wanting you to return.
But I can't stop you,
I can't make you not go.

I don't know what to say.
I don't know what to do.
The only thing I can think of is,
Return to me.

Nothing in this world can take you from me.
Nothing in this world can make you go away.
Nothing can tell you how much I love you,
Return to me my soldier.

I'll wait forever if I have too.
