Past Affinity/Future Unknown
It wasn't what I thought
In no way can I complain
A kiss goodbye to shed the pain

Only what I could dream
It could mean not a thing
Commence a feeling never ending

A return to status quo
Ending with fateful day
Sun seemed to beam another ray

But something is there
You say the fire's doused
Changes when you're not aroused

Weakened state
Wasn't as it seemed

Heat rising
To things only dreamed

He's still there
A hold to reassure

Clear the haze
Find truth so demure

It started long ago
Sheepish words unheard
Of that I feel I am cured

Sensing what you feel
Surprised by your decision
A joyous change to envision

Your list only grew
I could feel your confusion
No repentance or absolution

A lonely picture now
I see myself in his place
Unless you wear another face

With no regret
I see nothing wrong

The day we meet
He'll be long gone

The guilt veering
A guilt well worthwhile

There was no way
Today you make me smile.
