Never Had The Chance
Eyes of beauty
Heart of gold
She was a wife
She was a mother
A story  untold to the world
Of how much she was abused
Taken forgranted
The night before
She had her baby, it was a girl
The monster she loved
Took her life on that night
What really happened, no one really knows..
He was the love of her life
Through such betrayal and disrespect
Wounds, became her hearts regret
Eyes of beauty, held only forgiveness
To the man that she loved so much
No guilt he felt, from beating her to death
No remorse became of his shame
Just homeless kids, who became the victums
Living from foster home to foster home
Of not knowing how to truly love...
All because their father took away from them
What children need the most in their lives, their mother's love
What gives any man the right, to abuse a woman?
What happens to a man to cause him to be such abuser?
All these questions, consumes my mind...
Author's Notes:
I write this write cause I have reasons.. my grandfather beat my grandmother the night before she had her baby. She died in child birth. Because of the abuse my dad and his siblings endured. Most of them as well turned out to be abusers. And the ones that did not..well ended up marring an abuser. Whats sad is much of the same abuse is carried on through generation to genaration. From children to grand children. When Lord, will your children ever learn how to truly love in your precious name? I ask you Lord to intervein and take over this abuse! You know Lord of my pleas and I ask you LORD to delete this abuse from allof our lives! Make thouse of us who are weak, to be strong! Give us courage not to take it, but to stand on our own two feet and do what is right! In your Holy Precious name! I ask for your help in the matter, Amen.

There is NO excuse for abuse. This is with an abuser is hell on earth. I'm so happy women are being educated and helped in this regard...they can get out from under moreso now than any other time in history. This is happening in many homes...various kinds of abuse, each just as sickening as the other. If we talk about it then we can get help from others or others may be encouraged to talk about their situation too. We must break the silence as that is what empowers our abusers. Touching poetry...I'm so sorry for your emotional pain. I am pleased you can write about it--abuse isn't about wanting to hurt somebody physically--it is about control. The same goes for rape--it isn't about sex but is about control. There is much to be said about this topic. Sadly, abuse often continues from one generation to the next but the cycle of abuse can be broken. I wrote a poem about the is here if you care to read it. Abusers follow a pattern and that is what my poem is about. Be comforted Angelface...there are those who understand are not alone. *hugz*

Powerful poetry.  Wow!!    As bad as the subject is, the poetry is extremely impressive.  Well done and well spoken.  My wife and I both have abuse in our families we grew up in and and our siblings families.  The affect are far more devastating then people can imagine.  Abusers need to be recognized and exposed, or like you said it continues over and over, unended from generation to generation.  Takes courage to do that and a willingness to be embarrassed for a person we love and trust.  Ask "Sible" what happened.
