"We missed the fireworks."
I still doubt that I could see.
Even if my eyes were unclouded.
Although you helped, to some degree,
alleviate the dark in which I'm shrouded

Isn't it ironic then how we lie,
Not only to each other, but side by side?

That's fate. For us to fade. Gone dark, like heavenly shades.
You know the truth, I see it straight. Nothing gold can stay.
Trepidation. Anticipation. Culmination. We exchange.
[Sand & Water]
the tide is taking
our memories away.

Now condensation is escaping
The lips of the love that I've longed to taste
A colourful scene for this black and white play
Before I found that Our World Is Grey.

Bombs explode outside my window as we lay together in the dark
Illuminations of living colours projecting stories in the sparks
Lights dance upon your face and I tighten my embrace
And now I know what people mean when they speak of fate

"The fireworks", you whisper.
"We missed the fireworks."
Author's Notes:

Funny how the entire day was all about the fireworks.
That's the only reason you were there. That's the only reason I was there
That's the only reason we met.
And we were never there.

At my happiest moment I realized that life could never get any better.
And it breaks my heart knowing that we can only go downhill from here.
I won't settle for anything less. So maybe it's best
If we just let go.

In my room. The lights are off. The window's open. We were hot.
In all the excitement we forgot...

Like a story-telling theme, you grasped at our minds and took it on a spin of pure delight.. Your imagery was exceptional.. No poem this, just plain ole life captured in a blink of an eye...

Is this poem really a poem?

Is your life really a life?

Is your pain really pain?

Is your car really a car...

or is it a bicycle?....len
