Overfishing the Sea
Can you breathe now?
Turn your eyes to the clouds
Sit and watch the sun rise
Feel the glory burn your eyes

Can you stand up?
Don't say you've had enough
You're on top of the world
Your life so hoped will unfurl

Can you walk away?
Avoid the path leading astray
Akin to the one she led you to
It's time to think it through

Are you looking back?
Just stay steady on this track
In time you'll find the one
Don't ever say the ride is done

Your lives don't coincide
You're along for the ride
But now the ride ends
With the words "just friends"

The logic fills your head
You're like a book she read
Don't close yourself just yet
The others out there to be met
They're waiting for your rise.

Did you love her?
Cool off the burning embers
Residing deep inside your chest
You gave the feeling all your best

Are you hating this?
Being stuck on her waiting list
Realize no space left to reserve
This pain you feel, you don't deserve

Did you feel aroused?
Not when your hopes were doused
Questions ended with that kiss
Your ignorance became her bliss

Do you feel ashamed?
You're not the one to blame
Don't forget the times you had
There may be more events to add

The destination is the sun
It's setting so you better run
With twilight you will find
Your troubles will be left behind

They're always waiting for you
With new day comes new love true
Rise above and hope minimally
The love you hope comes finally
And you will embrace that feeling.
