Fallow Love
Her love for him was like a fallow,

Left alone unseeded.

She was craven to not exhilarate it.

She was her own adversary.

She coerced herself to alienate and look away.

But he did not give up that easily.

He took up culinary arts

To prove to her that his love was there to last.

He thought cooking was an artifice,

That would lead him to her heart.

But he thought wrong because

Her mind didn't work like that.

She just wanted to delete her memory of him,

Even though she knew it wasn't easy for she had loved him too.

But that was long ago,

When she was young and brave

And not afraid to say what was in her head.

All she was waiting for now was a demise.

She prayed for it to come.

She did not want to be

Stuck in this world all alone.
