Dark Corner of my Mind
You wouldn't know me
if you saw my Other side.
The one locked deep down,
Banging against the doors,
in the Dark Corner of my Mind.
It's wants to be let out,
It's pounds dent the walls,
It's Anger heats the barriers,
It's Wraths Tempest is Howling
in the Dark Corner of my Mind.
It's Moaning Song is echoing,
It's Soft Voice is growing,
It wants to be Heard,
Its calling to the other Darkness
in the Dark Corner of my Mind.
It's Breath is Cold,
It's incorprate Entity growing,
It's psychic Power Strenghtening,
It's found a crack in the Defences
Blocking the Dark Corner of my Mind.
It's Taking control,
It's coming through the crack,
the Defences are down,
and It's broken loose,
from the Dark Corner of my Mind.
Author's Notes:

I wrote this poem about 5 or so years ago, back when I had no friends and the Other side of me was all the company I had. The It refered to in the poem, was the Other identity I had at that point in time, and It's Dark thoughts were a comfort to me then. That was before I found the Goddess.

A very descriptive piece that all sufferers of depression will relate too.. The alter-ego with the dark reasoning that we try to lock up in our mental prisons, only to escape and it  tries to dominate our thoughts with our fears. But its escape brings its downfall if the dark thoughts are confronted and rationalised for what they are, just the ghosts of our fears in the mist of our confusion.. As a sufferer of depression I can really relate to this piece and your later more optimistic works too. Well Done, nicely written..

I really like this poem. I feel like you could have used more creative language, purhaps deeper metaphors and things to that nature. This is somthing I do because I'm really big on desciptive language and sort of painting a picture with words. However, this is only a suggjestion and I really enjoyed the poem and the way it is written is beautifully dark. you can feel the deepness of it. And I'm glad that you have come away from the dark thoughts.

I am reminded of steven King, Dean Koontz  Edgar Alan Poe. Edgar himself had a dark corner of his mind most of his life. very talented nad chilling. I injoyed it alot. I am glad to hear you have made piece with the lighted side however. Always Maggie.
