The Present

I cut my heart into pieces

I gave each piece to each bitter call

When I wanted to use it for myself

I found but ashes….

My heart pieces are lost here and there

It became a puzzle in need to be gathered again

I gave my heart as a present

I made of my soul a refugee.

Each time, I want reaching the summit of my thoughts

I dive into the abyss of emptiness

As I had nothing but blobs of hurt and pain.

My heart was torn into pieces

When I wanted to use it my withered beats

It didn’t want to work

I gave my heart as a present,

But I gave it blindly

I gave it to selfish ones

Those who thought of me an idiot.

My world yielded the ghost

Where I used to be the happiest

I have always heard the silent pains

And made them become part from me

I wept bitterly sorts and destinies

I thought so long of their unjust ends

But when my heart did bleed

I found no more tears to water my sadness

My tears dried with all the other sorrows

I chose to dwell within a sharp silence

Nobody will ever listen to my aching song

My present is to see all the ones I love

Smiling and facing boldly life tragedy

My dear present is to be a beat of each genuine feeling

I gave my heart as a present

I shall never regret

For all that I have given and felt.

When I gave my all, but the reward is indifference from all those I really love.
I can't change, I am just like this.

I found no more tears

to water my sadness

My tears, dried

with all the other sorrows

... these lines are
fantastic – a complete poem in and of itself.

Wonderful descriptive piece. Loved it! The way you used your words and made it come alive with the sadness, yet strong will of the real you, I found brilliant.

Nicely done..

There is so much within this verse. You have captured soul searching and the essence of picking each fiber right to the core with honestly.

Nice writing here, much depth and power.
