Syncopated Heartbeat
Well I feel so full of promise
Sitting on this lonely night
I don't know if she can hear me
But I can feel her beating

Tells a tale of something desired
Sings a song of another time
Drinks another one for hope
Holds me to release the fright

Could it be I'm only dreaming?
Am I being too idealistic?
Is this hope all meant to crash
When I sense the storm is done?

Dawn is breaking to reveal itself
A new day comes through the haze
And another day to witness her
Shine bright as on the horizon

If my eyes go blind
I won't mind, as your star is beaming atop me

If my face goes blank
Just speak the words I long for endlessly

If I begin to sink
I'll race towards the light beaming atop me

No more
And if you want to try
I'll hold you and speak those words endlessly

Though I'm not yet left guessing
I am far from being sure
Though I'm not yet feeling it mutual
I am far from giving up

I could measure up your beauty
If only such a thing was possible
I could sum up what I love of you
If only I had the right words

So under starry sky I lay again
To find where our stars align
If it takes all night I do not mind
Just hope you're staring up there

And for a moment we're together
Linked by only light in sky
Without question I can feel you now
If only I could see what you feel

Hold on
Never once a fear
Of you being what had failed me in the past

Never once unsure
The light will reassure me if I'm left in doubt

Never will you fear
Me being anything that failed you in the past

Stay here
Never will it fade
Unless you want it to, then return me to my doubt

But I am sure.
