Starless Night
Oh starless night...

Where twinkles are not bright...

There is no sweetdream goodnight...

Wolves howl at the lonely moonlight...

For there is no starlight...

Darkness is skintight...

Our dreams pray for daylight...

Ghosts of our pasts haunt our night...

Emotions ignite...

For this is my birth right...

I must call to my insight...

Under the lamp light...
Author's Notes:

I wanted to write something pretty called Starless Night. I didn't know what it would be about when I started. But I look up night in the ryhming dictionary here on c-poems and it was my guide to write this. I suppose it turned out to be about a lonely night when people are lost in their sadness and have to write. Isn't it strange how I can write without knowing where the pen will take me?

We don't always have to be inspired to conjure up a worthy story, sometimes the mood just strikes and you have no choice in the matter, you just go with the flow.

Rhyming is the timing subliming while finding. This is a lovely poem Ellie. Your rhyme is very good.

oh Ellie, what a wonderful poem. I adore night. I like walking and smelling the perfume. It once happened to me to lie down on our terrace and touch the stars with my hands. Do try it, it is so sweet. your writing is just perfect as usual you are a FAIRY FOREVER
