Scenes From a Collapse: It's Only Over When...
"Get clean. I'll still be here when you do." -Brooke

Lost another one.

You've helped me before, friend...

You feel the burn
You know it's there
Turn around and see nothing

Your senses dull
Beneath the warmth
Look around and see nothing

Feel overburdened
Misplaced and lost
Right behind you see nothing

So feel it burning
The end waits here
But you see nothing at all

So break this wall
And take it all
The pain will fall
Or just run away

Face the fear
You know it's near
The pain is clear
But still it stays

Be glad it's gone
Been here so damn long
But it feels so wrong
It creeps ahead

To destroy some more
What's this system for?
Useless to the core
Now you're dead.

I knew better then
Traced back so far
Shake me now it's all a dream

Just grow in size
Deplete the system
Wake me now it's all a dream

If I knew the news
I'd have changed it all
Hold me now it's just a dream

I fed it not
But it fed on me
Take me now it's not a dream

Give me one last chance
Wake me from this trance
Just for one last dance
Make me realize

I kicked habits then
So don't tell me when
This life cuts and ends
Close my eyes

I saw the pressure drop
I felt my heart stop
Screams made my ears pop
Creeping ahead

I'd drop this bottle now
But I don't know how
Too weak to take my bow
Am I dead?

...and the tears drop like rain.
