Caught on the cusp

of tomorrow and today.

I teetered on the line

drawn by inconspicuous

Know it alls.

Tiny specks of knowledge

disguised as memories.

joined forces

with blowing bay breezes

and bombarded me

with stinging grains

of dynamic reality.

A whirlwind of

what could be

wrestled with

a tsunami of what is

threatening my sanity

with their half truths

and seductive potential.

And my treasured balance

was jeopardized

by this churning storm

of contradiction…

So I fought

to find stability

in an unstable mind…

I was eventually lulled

into a catatonic slumber

by the peculiar melody

of my own maniacal laughter

erupting between clenched lips

in disconcertingly

harmonious bursts.
