Keeping Connected
You were the last woman here
Forgive me,‭ ‬I doubt you're sincere
We can spend all of our time in this room
Arguing who's got the better of whom
If you're into wasting the year
I'm not here

Don't press your hands into mine
You don't have to keep me in line
We can hide all of our truths behind smiles
Posture and flaunt all our feminine wiles
But I think I'll have to decline
If that's fine

What do you want
That brings you around
And keeps both your feet on the ground
What am I worth
And why should you care
It's not like I'm going anywhere

I've had enough of this face
So come on,‭ ‬let's kickstart the chase
I'll run,‭ ‬you'll follow,‭ ‬and no one can lose
Even a fall won't cause worse than a bruise
Arriving at last at disgrace
It's our place

What do you want
That brings you around
And keeps both your feet on the ground
What am I worth
And why should you care
It's not like I'm going anywhere

Reach out and twist the heart you find
And maybe she'll respond in kind

What do you want
That brings you around
And keeps both your feet on the ground
What am I worth
And why should you care
It's not like I'm going anywhere

And why,‭ ‬you ask,‭ ‬would I want
To go away
I'm glad you've come here today
You,‭ ‬oh,‭ ‬you
You're my only reason to stay

It's not like I'm going anywhere

You write with style and class.
The meaning is bittersweet
