In Bitter Memory
You handled me with such disgrace
It ends so suddenly
I should have brought this up that day
I know more than you think

I've been forced to relive this mess
This isn't what I'd hoped
You burned out and that's quite alright
Yet you think I don't know

So if you have to leave things such a mess
There are a few things that you should confess
I know about those so-called lonely nights
I heard about those afternoon delights

Before you throw me underneath the wheel
For once in your life look at how I feel
One last goodbye and you will be set free
Do not despair, your secret's safe with me

I know all of what happened then
You thought you got away
I hope they all see who you are
Just lie to them all too

Now sweep me underneath the rug
That's what you really want
You showed me who you really are
But you never knew me

I guess I'll keep this all within my head
Remembering every word that you said
Satisfied knowing you think I don't know
Faking all the care that you'd ever show

If this is how it ends, so let it be
You'll be fine now that you're finally free
Just turn away and never wonder why
Curse the day that I didn't say goodbye
