...Can this be accepted?

Step away from the door.
You will drive there no more.
Once was enough, it did no good.

Don't even touch that phone.
This is all better left alone.
Once was enough, it did no good.

Burn all the memories straight to ash.
They will forever reside in the trash.
This happened before, you knew it would.

Look inside yourself and realize
You cannot forever dwell on lies.
This happened before, you knew it would.

Did I really know?
How do you know?
How can you tell?
Have a story to tell?

Don't know you too well but I've seen it before
A good friend of mine fell for a whore
Not to say your girl was, but you never know
What proof or explanation has she shown?

He gave her all that he had to give
Gave her a car and a place to live
She would sleep around unbeknownst to him
Yet he proposed to her on a whim

She told him the truth and left with a breeze
As he clasped the ring and fell to his knees
He gave her his heart and she spit in his face
For years, the answer he tried to chase

Soon he gave up and fell down hard
So he stumbled and lumbered into his car
At eighty-five, he met a fate of twisted steel
And now before his grave we kneel.

In closing, son...

Oceans will drift, currents will shift.
Problems will come and burdens will lift.
Even in times of hardened strife
Never forget you have only one life.

Even in madness, don't flip off the switch.
You can't quit living because of a bitch.
Every cloud truly has a silver lining.
So pick yourself up, and please stop whining!

Now I see where this has gone...
What if Mother has it all wrong?

Maybe you were a whore?
Maybe you did cheat?
Maybe you are just a callous bitch?
How am I to know?
I wouldn't waste my energy on retribution.
You just aren't worth it.
Hell, if I was never worth a thing to you,
Then why should you be worth a thing to me?
You lied, that's for sure.
You broke the one promise I held on to dearly.
You trashed it all.

So many answers left to know
One day she'll tell me, I sure hope so!
Or do I just need to let this pass?

Nothing happens for a reason
My emotions have become open season
Yet this inquisition is running out of gas

I will move on
And I will learn to deal
As far as I'm concerned
Hatred I no longer feel

I have moved on
Answer I no longer seek
But I will be all ears
When you decide to speak

Yes, I see the sun... as I said before, it will shine.

Everything will be as it should be.
You'll see.
Life will go on and you still won't care.
Been there.
I hope your friends are aware of this shame.
Give blame.
You'd easily do to them what you did to me.
They'll see.
I hope for your sake you change your ways.
Better days.
Or else every relationship you have will fail.
Set sail.
And each one I hear of I will surprise me none.
I'm done.
With you behind me the end to this has begun.

This was all too easy for you to accept...
My road to acceptance has been arduous.

And I have conquered this road.
