Remember These Words~11

Remember These Words

Tell me what it is that you would do

About atrocities on this world we each view

If you had to decide punishment for the crimes

Of horrorendous acts we call signs of the times

Would you be angry at the entire population

Balanced between forgiveness or extermination

Would you allow our ignorance of instruction

Or would you cause complete world destruction

Would you display the ultimate universal power

And continue to disperse it with each passing hour

Would you spare the few who proved they knew
This was what the prophecies said wed go through

Someday you may find yourself asking why

The time came and went for this planet to unify

So remember these words Ive written for you
Then tell me what it is that you would do

I hear ya, James... We've reached a point in human history when it's time to grow up or blow up. I truly believe that the only reason we haven't had WW3 is because nuclear weapons have made such a war impossible to win or profit from. Here's praying that our luck holds out long enough. Great write, buddy. The internet may help us, too. The more we get to know each other, the less we can imagine the concepts of "us and them."..Made me think.....len

Vice President Cheney was running an "executive assassination ring" now inherited by Mr. Obama. It's still in operation. Do the American people even care? No! They don't give a flying flute sunshine. Or they would run these people out and hang them as war criminals. They just want their television. And they won't give a flying flute about anything... till someone comes banging on their door at 4am, to drag them off to a FEMA Camp.

... it's going to unify sunshine. It's going to unify very soon. I know you know, what I'm talking about

Thankfully, I have never been in a position to punish anyone so your question has me quite enthralled.  What would I do? Hmm...I know what I wouldn't do and there is a lot to be said for that.  Do you believe that small things, small changes can make a difference?  That perhaps punishment is not the answer...but reformation is?  Or is that too naive?  And if it's not, then your question back to me would surely be, "what would you do for reformation?"  To which I would have a grand answer that I am afraid you might scoff at.  Nonetheless, this poem is beautifully written and oh so thought-provoking.

I'm one who hasn't mastered using rhyme so I really appreciate those who can write and use it so wisely.  I really like this one.  And Peace to you also.
