Justice Explained
All for nothing
Never a chance to say goodbye
No more time
For anything other than wondering why
Tried my best
Incarceration I tried hard to spare
Can't look over
Face of stone that yields no care
Smash the clock
Time means nothing to eternity
On my way
Never reaching for a deity
Hard to see
Prevarications reigning over truth
Could never tell
So meticulous yet so uncouth
I leave now
Never again will I return
Pain still grows
Subtle fires of hatred still burn
Love is unconditional
A platitude they want me to believe
Now taking flight
Still much more to be achieved
Still I wonder
All the things I have been told
Justice isn't just
Lies that reign over truth so cold
Only thing raped
Was justice and fairness to no end
Now I continue
The mental unrest I must befriend
My own unrest
I shall overcome and leave behind
Here I stand
Before a future seeming so unkind
Life goes on
The haze will clear and truth will lead
Lies will fade
One will stay as one gets freed
Answers all gone
As questions and inquisition remain
Lesser men fell
Unable to avert the strife and pain
I will move
As country and justice continually regress
Say no more
This bitter unknown I no longer suppress

John, first off...congrats on a well-earned award. Secondly, I've always said that the "justice" system was as unjust as anything I've ever seen...I'm so sorry for the great cost you and your father have suffered.
