My Bright Little Star
Who are you my bright little star?
Don't you have more to do than chase the moon
like a puppy after a car?
You tend to wander, tho it's not very far,
Keeping your eyes on he was
             your powerful ruling czar.
Come away with me my little star,
Or must i be happy to capture your twinkle
and carry it home in a jar?
I am your bright big star
Even though i live afar
I would love to go away with you
So a jar i am sending you.
If you put your twinkle in a jar for me,
And send it into the sky so i can see,
Tho i am far away in more ways than three,
I'll notice its brilliance as it whispers, "shee".
Then i will make a wish for things to be,
And send my twinkle on its way home to thee.
Author's Notes:
just watching the star (which was actually Venus) follow the full moon through
the sky inspired this simple poem.  i was surprised to receive a reply, which
inspired the rest of the poem...and this is how it evolved.  10.13.08

Read your creation, and yes I can certainly relate. I'm a true Mickey Mouse fan, "When You Wish Upon a Star! You know the rest, don't you?

Are you cheating on me sister?? *lol* If it were twinkies in a jar -- then MAYBE!! (mmm, tasty) Cute stuff Linda -- I'm sure you'll cause the heavens to be congested with a whole lot of jars. =))
