It Was Not Meant to Be
Like two bright beacons, Venus and Jupiter are dancing in the night sky,
They tell me it's an optical illusion but i don't know the reason why.
They appear to be moving toward each other in the dark mysterious sky.
Like two young lovers, longing to touch and at least give love a try.

Who else can be seen waltzing on that great dance floor in the sky?
While bathed in the display of Earthshine, as a gift simply to beautify.
Mr. Moon is found in the arms of Ms. Crescent... the rules to defy,
And for a brief, intimate moment on each other they promise to rely.

Like two hopeless lovers, Venus and Jupiter are dancing alone in the sky,
Why can't they travel life's journey together and their cares simplify?
They appear to be reaching for each other in the dark mysterious sky,
Nevertheless...still seperated by two degrees...so close they could cry.

A new season of travel unfolds on that great dance floor in the sky,
After passing Jupiter, Venus with continure for awhile without her guy.
She appears to be eager  to begin again, and give love another try,
However, this time it was just not meant to be...you might hear her sigh.

Author's Notes:
i was fascinated with the recent conjunction of Venus and Jupiter. i watched the
romance play our before my eyes...was anyone else watching?

This is great, the passing of two lovers that were in unison at that point but it just wasn't meant to be.  This doesn't decrease the intensity of their love.  Terrific poem.

I definitely see the correalation between the planets and the lovers longing to give love a try. Ahh humbug...that wretched "distance"...it certainly gets in the way. *sigh* "And for a brief, intimate moment on each other they promise to rely"...perhaps this will suffice--be the groundwork for a time when they meet again on a favorable path with favorable circumstances. Just lovely Miss Linda! =))

Oh it's wonderfully beautiful. I love it when people compare the universe to love and life and other such humanities. I love it very much. This is going in my faves. And maybe I will write about the greatness of space and humanity.
