Communications Breakdown

I could say
In my way
All you wanted to hear

Communication cut off to my desires

I could act
Not react
And be done with the tears

Sendoff cut off all these wires

So if there's anything
The world could bring
And I could match the call

I'd leave it there
Without a care
Content as the barrier falls

You could try
To ask why
The waves reverberate

They fall around you without a sound

You could see
It's not me
Failed attempts to relate

The lifeline drifts as it drowns

So draw up the plan
Leave this as it stands
And carry on your way

Knowing I won't be the one
To tear down what we begun
As what we began was led astray
And as I say these words
I'm sure will go unheard
Only to come back and reverberate

I've been left no choice
But to raise my voice
All forgotten, all too late
