Fixing It
You make me want to give it all away,
But giving it is where the trouble lies;
You make me need the words you'll never say
But I could never venture to despise
The push-pull of our touch-avoidance dance,
Betraying how far we have yet to come.
At clear remove, your eyes watch me askance,
As if you want to ask me where I'm from,
And truthfully, my dear, I couldn't tell.
I reach out for your hand, your skin that burns;
I hope you realize that I bleed as well,
And that we die for want of taking turns.
Your patience with my dwindling faith grows fine―
But never more so, gentle love, than mine.
Author's Notes:
Feeling inadequate, as usual, and not quite knowing how to change what I don't like about myself.  Wishing this particular failing didn't so badly affect my husband.

PS ..........Oh and just remember, we are all our own worst enemies..we ALL have inadequacies. Do what you can, and let the rest go..the ones who love us, love us anyway.

Jessica, you are not at all inadequate with words, I assure you. This was excellent in form, although I can't do a sonnet at of my inadequacies! I found this quite a touching personal view with som elines and phrases in it that would stop a freight with  the sheer weight of it. Absolutley fine work here.
