Half Moon?
The you plus me will always be
A marvelous dichotomy:
Anachronistic anarchy,
A maudlin play's soliloquy.
We both agree that chemistry
Can't patch our strange chronology;
You'll cast your ballot absentee
And file it under chivalry,
While R&D runs subtlely
The backdrop probability―
And finds your touted symmetry
An over-blown absurdity.
I know you see that data tree
As nothing more than trickery,
Yet still your best astrology
Cannot predict hypocrisy.
So bend your knee and praise with me
The nature of causality―
A quaint sentimentality,
And ever satisfactory.
The you plus me will always be
Unfortunate dichotomy;
But who are we to remedy
Such glorious discrepancy?
Author's Notes:
An experiment in using as many -y rhymes as possible without resorting to more than a few adverbs, while still having a recognizable subject.  Dedicated to my husband, with whom I actually do engage in this kind of wordplay.

A very successful experiment Ruth. Every couple is of course a true dichotomy - it is the tragedy of love (there's a rhyme you did not get in:-) I only counted one adverb!

Beautifully done, sensitively executed, amazingly rhymed!

Nothing like wordplay to keep the mind stimulated. Actually doctors have proven the effectiveness of such things against Alzheimer's disease. Fine job here I do say.
