We of little faith

We were all there
that faithful day
when life lost its meaning
when hope faded away

We ignored the signs
doomed by our cowardice
expelled the thought from our minds
vision shrouded in darkness

We watched our faith fail
and we didnít even cry
didnít have the decency to care
no one even wondered why

We sit around waiting
waiting for every thing to end
without hope or faith there's no point
and its no use to pretend

We build or own coffin
we even dug our own grave
as we look down the hole, we see
its ourselves we couldnít save

Mads-  I found this work interesting and provocative.  I wonder if, in line 2, you meant, "fateful" rather than "faithful"; it would make more sense?  There is an omninous quality to this piece like being in a tunnel in the path of an oncoming train;nowhere to turn or run.

To me it reminds me of how we let our world and country get in such shape and we not even lifted a finger.. For blame we always put upon all when the chips are down.. Our faith is tested each day, from the moment we rise, till we then retire.. It does not mean we have to go to a church to pray, or have our faith.. We just need to remember that without faith then we are null! With faith, no matter what the cost, we shall rise and be above in our thoughts.. Which is where we do most of our battling.. That is my thoughts anyway, yours may have been different while you wrote it..

There is a lot of good sense to it... seems like there are more pessimists than there are optimists in our lives.

Good write..well-balanced...well-rhymed...enjoyed it.
