The Mirror

Looking into the mirror I see only me

Eyes glazed over transfixed with a hollow stare

I watch myself swallow that lump in my throat

An outstretched hand slides down the reflection

Two hands joined, I should be at peace

A weak smile practices for the mirror

As I gaze into my eyes to see what everyone else sees

Feet tire as I stand in front of the mirror

Light grows on my face

I have been standing here all night

The same smile grins its biggest lie

And I see what everyone else can see

Such velvet copious petals of red

With my bloom in awe to the sky

Singing sweet fragrance into the warmed breeze

Never to brown or fade into a wilt

But evil thorns kept sharp prick my fingers

Fingers that so cruelly grip my mind

Forcing tears of numbness to waste away my cheeks

Appearing to be one red rose but really two

So standing in front of the mirror again

Feet growing restless as I stare

After another day I whisper to myself
"No Tomorrow"

Such sadness looms over me when I look into the mirror

Looking into the mirror I see only me

I hate what I always see

Out of context I know but I am completley gone from myself..
