These thoughts are overwhelming
Too much for me to stand
I lock myself in my room
Take the bottle in my hand

Thereís no one left to talk to
Canít find comfort in sleep
I see but one solution
Fifteen or so inches deep

I fill my glass up again
These memories wonít fade
Theyíre tearing my mind apart
The thoughts sharp as razor blades

My visionís getting fuzzy
I start to lose control
This frustration that only
Another drink can console

So now Iím going under
Donít know where I went wrong
I guess right here on the floor
Is where I truly belong

But now my bottleís empty
Nostalgia still remains
It seems intoxication
Cannot erase all the pain

My consciousness is fading
The room begins to spin
And in these final moments
Hallucinations begin

I see her walking towards me
Her hand reaches for mine
She pulls herself close to me
Her beauty: Oh, so divine

Her face caresses my cheek
I feel her silky skin
It seems that my fantasy
And alcohol are akin

I look deep into her eyes
I taste her scarlet lips
Fire runs wild through my veins
The painís perfectly eclipsed

I hear her gentle breathing
She slowly falls asleep
Just holding her in my arms
Makes me feel like Iím complete

But now the dream is over
I awake on the floor
Struggling just to stand up
Like so many times before

Get through the rest of the day
I come home late and then
The thoughts return with vengeance
The bottle calls once again

These feelings arenít immortal
I know this canít go on
This pain canít last forever
So Iíll just drink Ďtil itís gone

Just drink Ďtil itís gone
Iíll just drink Ďtil Iím gone
Author's Notes:
I've been working on this piece for several months now. It was inspired from a rough patch I went through (I'm out of that routine now), using alcohol as an escape from my problems. It kind of turned out a lot longer than I anticipated, but I wanted to make the picture very clear and it just kinda kept rolling. So, hopefully you can get the inspiration behind it just from reading it.

As always, critiques are welcome and appreciated, or just please let me know what you think of it. Thanks everyone, hope you enjoyed it.

First of all Welcome to our Site!!
I have read all three poems and I must say for a young writer you have done an awesome job. The last lines is the very broken heart beat of the poem I think we all can relate to..(( These feelings arenít immortal
I know this canít go on
This pain canít last forever
So Iíll just drink Ďtil itís gone

Just drink Ďtil itís gone
Iíll just drink Ďtil Iím gone
