What You Create~3

What You Create

So many days are behind me wasted

I have never died but death I've tasted

Like Russian roulette on a daily bases

I'm reminded by all my dead friends faces

I remember when life was just a game

But now I donít seem to feel the same

As Iím working to redirect my lifestyle

And trying much harder to wear a smile

I must be much kinder to my fellow man

So I can be quicker to reach out my hand

And act like this life is my new mission

By painting me a beautiful restored vision

Now if your heart really wants to change

It's true that any one us can rearrange

But your time is ticking so don't hesitate

For this life becomes what you create

Author's Notes:
This poem is from the pages of my 3rd book-
The Journey~At The Crossroads~
And will be included in my 10th book commemorating
13 years of writing-
Reflections-2 The Very Best of The Journey~
~Due sometime summer of 09~

One of the things about writing is reading something you wrote
many years ago and realizing you have surpassed the place
you were at when it was written-
The Line~I'm working to redirect my lifestyle~
made me understand who I was then and who I have not
only become today, but who I am yet to be tomorrow-
Each new day is a new chance to start a new direction-
What we do with that chance and how we use it is
really up to us and us alone-
What will you do with Yours~
Peace~
James

Perfect rhyme and flow, with a theme of knowledge and understanding of the future. Loved every word.

I find it intersting how as I age and have the ability to to look both forward and backward on my life that my perspective on the rest of the world changes. I am right there with you. Good one my friend.
