Owl & Prey

Wisdom camouflage,
in tinted tan-greys,
wing-tipped fingers
scribbling in air,
sketch its silent flight at sunset.

The great owl feels the heat,
see's the sightless,
is earnestly tuned,
to decibels of silence.

Plunging through darkness,
like shadows flash in dreams,
A silhouette clasps its prey,
swoops inches from abyss,
challenges fate every day.

Shame on those of us
so easily ingested by our
fabled depressive holes.
What weakness disguised,
we pretend perturb our souls?

Like the owl, we too must ride
the pendulum in similar ways.
Live our lives intensely,
feel passion's warmth,
hear a loving heart beat,
for there is no second chance in time
to relish precious moments passing.

Looking back is dangerous.  There are times where I allow myself to sleep into thought and venture into the minds of those that I've left behind or have left me behind.  It makes for good writes sometimes.  I thank you for directing me to this poem.

It is important to move forward and to live life day by day.  Strong words of advice.

Like the owl, we too must ride.  I loved that...

And your opening stanza grabbed hard.  Good work with this one.  I enjoyed this very much. ~Pamela

I feel that we do get second chances. Some of us have been blessed with that. Although we can't live exact moments in time, we can get that second chance. Another intelligent piece Raymond, Joe

This poem reveals how fast time fleets
we don't have a second chance to live ..
We must live life to the fullest now..
Taste life and savor the sweetness
.embrace your fears and just reach out and enjoy
the Autumn years are so colored with such vividness
So much to do and love ..
Oh you have chosen your words well
in this brilliant poem
I am glad I stayed up till you posted it ..
Thank you thoughts to ponder .
