Beyond, In Memory of Richard Flores
The night sky has come alive
Winged wonders flit and flash
The twinkling of fireflies
Outshine the stars, at last

Darkness is the backdrop
For an expansive stage of air
Beyond, Richard Lionheart
Is dazzled by the flare

Quick little gleams, then many more
Make their brief appearance
Hundreds join, thousands shine
Crowded, without clearance

He knows the million flying lights
Are seen by a precious few
He is aware that on the earth
His light has gone out too

Yet Lionheart is all aglow
A grin from ear to ear
"Where have all the fireflies gone?"
His question answered, here

A beautiful tribute and so true to Richard's character and charm.  I have only recently learned of his passing and in me is left a huge hole.  We spoke not two days before he passed, ahhh. who knew?  It was a wonderful conversation. *smile*  as I reacall.

This is beautifully written with Richard in mind.  Thank you for this. ~Pamela

Such a beautiful write that surely would touch his heart  He was kind and warm and will be terribly missed by all of us. Yes "where have all the fireflies gone?" his question answered here. So touching and moving. I was proud to know him as friend.

Beautifully done - I have seen a firefly only once - In France. Was Richard documenting the decline of fireflies in Texas? In any case you used the imagery very well.

Barbara, this is just beautiful for the most beautiful man I have ever

met. He is missed terribly. I still cannot come to grips that he is gone,

that the phone will never ring again and I hear "Hello Lady." He was

certainly one of a kind. there will never be another SW~Lionheart, never.

Hugs,

Penny

As the tears continue to flow I read on and a smile comes to my face knowing just how much this man was loved by all on CP and all over the world for his love spread wide to one and all.

Love to all his family and friends

Just when I think I can't cry  another tear...I read this and there they are. I bet he's loving the glow of those little sparkling creatures.

He's going to  be so sorely missed...What a wonderful man, friend and confidante he has been to so many over the years here.

Love, tears and hugs...

Glata

A beautiful dedication Barbara, I see by all of the dedications to him that he was a very popular man and he was a very talented poet as well.  Henry

Barbara,
As I have said so much today we all can not believe our dearest friend has left us .. We mourn  his passing most of us in shock  and just don't want to believe he will not be with us all daily... He told me the other day he was not feeling well  and I wondered then..
I sent him my love and big hugs  he was so a wonderful man with so love for nature...
Tonight as I set outside with my wine and splashing water fall pond I will watch to see if I see fireflies again tonight... If I don't see any they have flown away to be with him in Gods paradise ...
We will miss you Sir Richard...

The grief of all is tangeable Barbara. I salute a man of art and animal lover....

I do not / cannot believe he has gone...

He told me just a few days ago that we never leave..just return to nature...I know that he has...
