One Car Followed

I saw a hearse being loaded

The escort carís lights went on

The precession pulled away

Only one car followed

No one rode in the hearse

Only one person was in the car

What happened with this life

That it deserved a single mourner

Did death finally bless a cursed life

Had everyone been pushed away

Was this person such a wretch

That only one could muster grief

Or does the mourner of others

Finally get to be mourned

Is it now time to rest for one of the last

That has seen death time and time again

Either way it would seem this

Life was filled with sadness

I can only hope when my time comes

More than one car follows

That is sad. It also sends a message that we have to be aware of the people closest to us. Reaching out for help and asking for love is not a weakness.
