An ancient writing tablet or painting
consisting of three hinged leaves
permitting the two side panels
to be folded over the center one.
Following are reposts of three
of my favorite romantic pieces
to form my "Triptych" of poems.
Where night surrounds
And creates our dream
Of pure delight
Bewitched by air
Rhythmic with our murmerings;
Then endless echoes
Caught by winds that rush
Through slumbering night
Into dawn's sweet hush;
Passion moves our hips
And sings for us
Its breathless song.
Touching each other
In myriads of ways
Discovering one's need
Then granting favors
Releasing love,
The core of our beings.
The Flame of Life
I think there hides
Within your eyes
A dream of love's desire;
As the glowing candlelight
 tints your heart with fire.
Behind your gentle smile
There's a rush of deep regret
And wayward thoughts appear
Of why we never met.
I think there hides
Within your heart
Deep silence and sad tears;
For time and fate
Have kept you, oh so far from here.
I think before the candlelight
Invariably burns low
We'll know that love and destiny
Have kept the flame aglow.
