"The best and most beautiful things
in the world cannot be seen
or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart."
Helen Keller

The sun began to set, and my heart cried,
once again I took the path to the stream
like many nights before, I listened for
your whispers, as I always did before.

The gentle waters flowed over the rocks
as I followed it's flow, never knowing
where these waters would go. The
setting sun kissing the leaves of the
trees, as their shadows cast
upon the stream, visions of thee.

I had to find the one, the one who
gently whispers to me, the one that
can be found only in my dreams.
Darkness lying up ahead as around
the bend I came. Before me, the river
as still as the falling night, never
would it be the same.

With each tear that fell upon the
waters deep, I knew in my heart, this
love I'd have to keep. Silence covered
me tightly, the ripples upon the water,
my tears in the moon light, when
suddenly I heard the whispers, will
I find love tonight?

Looking out upon the waters before me,
the winds now began to blow, as I
hear sweet melodies, and the stars
set the stage for the show. I heard his
loving whisper, "Finally I am with thee,
just like I promised I would be."

"I told you to walk down by the stream,
it is here you would find me." My tears
began to flow, my heart trembled like
never before, as he took me in his arms,
and in silence we danced, through the
waters, under the stars, with the
Heaven's upon us, his heart beating
with mine, as together we soared.

Dancing till the early morn, I felt I
couldn't let go, we sat on the mossy
bank, beneath the moons sensual glow.
Sleep found it's way into this heart
of mine, only to wake to his whispers
and the salty tears of life.

Gently the stream babbled as I took to
the path back home, there to the place
where my heart dances alone. I will
wait for his whispers in the still of
the night, I will follow the stream
once again, till I reach the river,
the river where my dreams begin.

This moved me to tears! I think I have  that same river path that I take on occasion...and it's painfully hard to have to return to the harshness of daily living. However, we always get to return to that  spot of romantic beauty that you've brought to life here.

Great work, as always!
