Stone, was his name...thatís how I remember him
A rock to cling to in my chastity
He saw me at the carnival, I was with my friends
He ask a girlfriend who I was
Wondered if he could have my number
I was in awe, He liked me!
Shy and self-conscious I cast my eyes to the ground
Whenever I  looked his way, he smiled
He told everyone I had the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen
Back at school he began to show up at the my home room
And as I came out of English Lit
He walked me to the next class, staring at me all the while
I saw his beautiful brown eyes shining for me
and I know I blushed
I do now, just thinking of those moments in the hall
He was the first boy I ever kissed and it was good
Innocent and pure, warm and comforting
He kissed me like he was afraid I would break
And I kissed him back, my heart beating wildly
I peeked once to see his face
I remember putting my fingers to my lips afterward
Trying to recapture that kiss,
At home in my bedroom, yes
I think I kissed my mirror, pretending it was him
Silly girls do such things
I donít remember why we parted,
But we did as most first loves do
Even now it is the sweetest of memories
My first kiss, my first love...and I will always treasure it.
Author's Notes:
it broke my heart when he moved away...not sure i remember why he did....but i shall never forget this innocence of my first love and my very first kiss

Where would we be without memories like these?

Lovely Poem Cindy - I wouldn't have spoken to you when I was 16 - you'd have been too beautiful, too frightening, I'd have admired you from afar -written  your name on my bedroom wall and poems for you in my secret diary, dreamed of you, imagined that kiss but never said a word:-(

Warm Wishes

I always like how you let the reader into your poetry.  This one, I have to smile thinking of my first kiss.  Her name was Nancy and I will also never forget the kiss.

Cin, this is a very sweet accounting of a special moment in your life....which makes it more enjoyable to read.  I remember kissing  a young lady I cared about very much, for the first time, I can't come up with words to describe how wonderful it was.

Oh the thrill of new emotions and first experiences! This was lovely, I especially enjoyed how you described the kiss itself (you peeker you!!) and how you touched your lips later in your room. The memories within this piece drip of sweet innocence, I have enjoyed this thoroughly. Very nicely done Cindy!

Nice reminisce. I was 13. Took a girl name, Terry to see the animated Disney

movie, "Lady and a Tramp". Big deal for me then. Ha

Got a kiss like you describe. We were sorta friends all the way through high school. We never went anywhere together after that except to Mass every Sunday just about.

I guess I should have married that girl. :o)

Ahhh..memories.  Thanks for posting this Cindy. It'll make everybody think back.

so sweet1 I too, remember my first kiss. It was aged 1 after a boy scout dance under a tree with a boy called "monkey" Ross. He suited his nickname. It was slobbery and unpleasant but he suggested we did it we did. I went to bed a changed girl that night ;-)  Ali x
