Psalm 1218

Psalm 1218

For so long, Father,

I believed You accepted me because

I obey most rules, I help others,

I’m not perfect or that bad,

but I see now, I was just fooling myself.

Even You said:

“Why do you call me good?

No one is good, but One, that is God,” (Mark 10:18)

“And this is the condemnation,

that light has come into the world,

and men loved darkness rather than light,

for their deeds were evil.” (John 3:19)

At times I’ve loved money more than You –

that is an idol.

I’ve loved sexual immorality more than You –

that is an idol.

I’ve loved worldly pleasures more than You –

that is an idol.

I cannot say, “I am not guilty!”

I’ve walked away from You

for so long

I’ve been covered in the sadness of these sins.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth:

fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness,

which is idolatry. (Colossians 3:5)

So many times I can remember feeling like Job:

“My spirit is broken, my days are extinguished,

the grave is ready for me.” (Job 17:1)

Satan brought sin here,

and its ruining our lives and our families.
Righteousness exalts a nation,

but sin is a disgrace to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)

Every sin is aimed against You, Father,

rejecting You as King, and insulting You

by denying your knowledge and wisdom;

is goes against all that You are.

“My people have committed two sins:

they have forsaken Me, the spring of living water,

and have dug their own cisterns,

broken cisterns, that cannot hold water.” (Jeremiah 2:13)

Most of the news is filled with reports of sin

in newspapers and on television

But what we don't hear about or

especially see is - our spirit

where evil chews on our mind

covering our hearts with

darkness and shame.

“The heart is deceitful

above all things and beyond cure.

Who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

“The hearts of men moreover, are full of evil

and there is madness in their hearts

while they live.” (Ecclesiastes 9:3)

It is Jesus, ‘the Light’ who charges:

“You belong to your father the devil,

and you want to carry out your fathers desire.” (John 8:44)

“He who does what is sinful is of the devil,

because the devil has been sinning since the beginning.” (1 John 3:8)

Satan is the father of sin,

That’s who I learned it from.

“In this the children of God and

the children of the devil are made manifest:

whoever does not practice righteousness

is not of God, nor is he

who does not love his brother.” (1 John 3:10)

Following my own thoughts and desires

I’ve placed myself in the wrong family –

belonging to the old serpent,

the ruler of the kingdom of the air,

who works spiritually in those who do not obey.

“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven,

having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain

in his hand.  He laid hold of the dragon,

that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan,

and bound him for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20: 1-3)

As a sinner I’m living in

the kingdom which stirs up your anger,

I’ve been giving into lies that cover

how sinful and dead I am inside

making myself the king of sin

Living by my own self-will

and by world taught  standards.

For so long, I’ve been giving Satan

a hold on me,

and as my sin has grown worse and worse,

Satan has made it seem like it's no big deal.

“When he lies, he speaks his native language,

for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

Jesus said:

“The world……..hates me because I testify

that what it does is evil. (John 7:7)

“Everyone who does evil hates the light,

and will not come into the light

for fear that his deeds will be exposed. (John 3:20)

Now I’ve lost my pride

confessing my sins, Father,

it did hurt a little,

but the truth can set anyone free.

The truthfulness You imbue:

rejects all lies,

and speaks of what darkness holds for us –

far greater pain.

Here is how Satan will be brought to an end:

“The devil who deceived them

was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,

where the beast and the false prophet are

and they will be tormented day and night,

forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)

Here is how a sinner's life ends:

“he himself shall also drink of the wine

of the wrath of God, which is poured out full

strength into the cup of His indignation.

He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone

in the presence
of the Holy Angels and in the presence of

The Lamb.

And the smoke of their torment

rises forever and ever;

and they have no rest day or night,

who worship the beast and his image,

and whoever receives the mark

of his name.” (Revelation 14:10-11)

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable,

murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters and all liars

shall have their part in the lake which burns

with fire and brimstone,

which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

All humans must face death –

the separation of spirit from flesh.

Everyone belonging to Satan’s kingdom

faces the second death – eternal death.

Our spirits cannot be buried in soil,

Therefore. if it is buried in fire, then it is eternal fire.

“Then he will also say to them on the left hand,

depart from Me, you cursed,

into the everlasting fire prepared

for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41)

You are filled with Love, Father,

never softening the truth,

yet offering us hope through baptism

in the name of Jesus Christ.

“In an acceptable time I have heard you,

And in the day of salvation,

I have helped you.”

Behold now is the accepted time,

Behold now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Everyone born one dies twice in sins,

as those born twice live forever.

“Most assuredly, I say to you,

If anyone keeps my word he

shall never see death.” (John 8:51)

“I am the resurrection and the life,

he who believes in Me, though he may die,

he shall live,

“And whoever lives and believes in Me

shall never die.

Do you believe this? (John 11:25-26)

Praise You, Father!

I will praise You to the ends of the earth!

You know heaven’s joy

and the horrors of hell,

along with knowing what’s in every spirit.

His command:

Be born again!

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,

Who was, and is, and is to come.
