Autumn Of Our Love

Moving toward me under a full august moon

Shadows danced along as if playful children

Hair just like corn silk golden and soft to my touch

Her delicate features visible even in the moonlight

Beautiful as the day we each pledged innocent love

Our vows were only to give each love and respect

Much has passed between us in those years since

Days with joyful love and moments of selfish anger

The warmth of autumn colors still fills both of our hearts

Imperfect in love and life we found our own balance

She is a part of me and I of her until death delivers us up

Love and respect are a couple of key indgredients in making a relationship work. Having both of them allows for much can be forgiven and a balance can certainly be found. Those we love or have loved will always be a part of us until death delivers us up...be we together as a couple or parted for whatever reasons were deemed valid. This is lovely Steve...I feel the warmth of those autumn colors.

Congratulations on winning the FP award!

It's rare to find love and know it's the love you want until the end of time. "Human Imperfection" is what keeps it interesting and fresh.

Wonderful write and deserving of the bronze...

This is what it's all about! Even with all the failings of the human  side, the heart will always find a way to carry on that love that first drew them together...IF the two are willing to work together for that love.

In this day and age, though, fighting for that love has become a thing of the past...it's too easy to just throw in the towel and move on...

Beautiful work here! You, my friend, have an incredibly romantic heart and soul that you display wonderfully in your writes!

Hugs...

Glata

Absolutely beautiful. The autumn years of life and love can be very rewarding for the fortunate ones. I'm truly inspired by your display of true love. Your dear wife would ever be so endeared by your words of love to her. She's surely fortunate. Be blessed.

I believe the "vows" go..."Till death do us part"

The saddest thing is these vows are so often read, affirmed and then forgotten.

Nice work Steve.

That is some pretty wise stuff, Steve. If the bond is strong enough, a couple can continue to love, warts and all...len
