"Society"
I watched him for many years fall apart right in front of me
I watched him for many years fight back the pain he did feel
I watched him for many years get rejected by the ones that are supposed to love him
I was there for him when no one else would be
I was there for him through his thickness and his thin
Through his troubles he got in
Through the stuff life brought to him
He was a fighter
He was a lover
He was just like you and I
Breathed, had a heart, cared for others
But was pushed aside by society
Laughed at made fun of
Taken advantage of
Thrown aside like some doll
Society has no room it seems
For the people that are less fortunate these days
Society has no room for the ones that need that little support
To make it through life each and everyday
Every talk to a homeless person
Ever hear what they have to say
Lots are smart
Lots have potential
Lots are just lost in there ways
Tossed out by the ones that used to say I love you to them
Lots have medical problems and get kicked to the curb
They get lost in there time
Been there for so long
Know nothing else but the streets
People look at them and think those bums looking for change
Wanting to buy booze
Booze that helps them wash away that pain they feel
Even if its for an hour or so
The less fortunate are the fighters
They are the survivors
They are the ones society should want to be
They are the ones that bounce back when the odds are against them
They are the ones that keep strong no matter what the ends may be
They are the true person.

Dear Scott-
I thought these words said some very "Real" things and then
when I saw that they were ignited by a very close friend of mine,
it made it very easy to understand why-
There are times in our lives when we encounter some who have had
continuous curve balls thrown at them by Life-
They dodge the ones they can but still get hit by one every now and then-
Yet when we see these inspirations in life still continue to forge ahead,
it helps give us the courage to do so also-
Thank You for sharing these thoughts-
They were really what I needed to hear this morning!
Best Wishes to You and Yours~
Peace~
James
