Love Is Never Easy

Love can be good

But it is never easy

It can be

And sometimes sleazy

It can be

And make you feel queasy

It should be

Comfort it must render

Make you feel grateful
But never blameless

Accepted with some reasoning

It will be

Everything to some people

Something to all people

Author's Notes:

The eternal quest to understand love.  I think love is like a flame.  We are drawn to it's warmth but if we lose sight of it's power, we will get burned.

Dear Steve:  How very true your words are.  Well written, right from your heart.   Love, Janjan xoxo

This poem speaks so much truth and was fun to read, as well!  And I agree with Glata.  The 'about' is as meaningful and insightful as the rest.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

I think the \"about\" on this one summed it up perfectly! Great little  write here, Steve...

That is love.  I agree with you and the statement about love is so true.
Nothing is more wonderful then love then love, nothing.  BUT in the same breath; Nothing hurts more then love...
One day of true love is worth the endless pain that usually accompanies it.

I think love is understood on it's own terms, Steve..As Einstien said when asked if everything could be stated in mathmatical terms, "You could express a symphony in terms of vairiable air pressures, but it would be meaningless."...len

"There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be love." ~George Sand~

George had it all figured out in 1862...just 13 words had the power to say what millions of other well placed words have not been able to. We really will never be happy without love in our matter how wonderful or poorly love behaves or however it is defined, we ABSOLUTELY need it to thrive. I'm sure you and George would have got on famously...sharing ideas about love over tea & biscuits in the garden...and I would be greatly honored to pull up a chair with the two of you.
