We Asked For Everything~11

We Asked For Everything

Iíve lived my life in exile rarely wearing a smile
Watching the public become no more than a government file
The leaders of the masses divided us in different classes
So we didnít hear the prophecies or judgment that it passes

The gates of hell offered society a free admittance
As God became our witness time became a life sentence
Weíre lambs led to slaughter raping the virgin daughter
So Earth will give birth to a climate change thatís hotter

Because intelligence was slain through personal gain
My heart now fills with pain staring at the blood stain
Reality became defined by genocide and HIV
As poverty destroyed the dignity of people just like me

Satanís son had then been sent to become the president
So Armageddon became a day that we canít prevent
Now we wait to detonate and incinerate within our hate
Yet we asked for everything that has been put upon our plate

Author's Notes:
I have not posted anything new here since the first of the year-
I've tried to spend the very little time I have these days between finishing my 9th book
You see, it's true when they say nothing good ever lasts-
It's the way of the world today-
If it doesn't involve ME-It's not important-
Of course this is the attitude that got us and our world where it is today-
Be Proud of it Folks-After All~We're each a small piece of the Whole Picture-

I fully agree with being a small piece. It saddened me to read your poem knowing how true the words were. Great write.

James, such a profound piece you have penned. I firmly believe that everything in life happens for a reason and that all things will fall into place as it is meant to be. One must hit rock bottom before they can begin to climb back up to the top again - this world is nearing that bottom every day. I can only hope that the people as a whole can see their way to start climbing together to make the changes needed to better ourselves.

I understand completely what you are saying here but a part of me has to believe we can turn this thing around.  Without that hope there really is nothing left.  As usual, you make the reader look themselves in the mirror.

Very deep thoughts here James, as always it leaves the reader with a lot to think about. We definitely are a small piece or the big picture and all play a role in the state of the world today.

The things you say here ring with truth.

Perhaps it  would be well if God saw to it that we

start over from scratch.

That would be the real "change" for this earth.

We've dived into hell head first and eyes wide open, that's for certain...

Great job, as always, James...

Sad  to know,  isn't it, that we truly HAVE asked for everything...

Your NC sis...
