Everyday Heroes
For the men who stand in the face of danger
They dodge bullets every day for American Pride
They don't do it because they have to fight in anger
Many have stood against us, and most have died
Most people say we shouldn't even be there
Many say it is a stupid war
I say fight 'em  there, we don't want 'em here!
So many still go back for another tour
These fewand proud know the cost
But still they stand day after day
Many of their friends have been lost
They know what they have to do, they all know the way
We need to see what's done is  done
It's time to get behind these brave few
We will not turn and will not run
So just shut up and support these everyday heroes, too
Author's Notes:
Dedicated to Josh Hopper and Dane Acord
Josh has suffered severe injuries from a roadside bomb and Dane has just been sent over. These men are two of my heroes.

I don't know of anyone who says they don't support the troops, so I'm not sure who you are telling to shut up. A young man died in Afghanastan the other day during his SEVENTH rotation..If anyone should be supporting the troops, it should be our commander in chief who bans the media from covering the funerals of the brave souls who gave their lives for him. A thousand vets a month attempt suicide. It takes them a hundred and eighty days to get help, if they are lucky enough not to die in the attempt. I'm so sorry to hear about Josh. I still grieve for the many thousands of yopung men who died in another pointless war...Viet Nam.

"fight 'em  there, we don't want 'em here!" was the Bush mantra long ago..The sad fact is, there were no terrorist organizations in Iraq until we topped Saddam and left a power vavuum that no amout of future American deaths will ever fill. Five years and counting, Clay...What has been acccomplised? You tell me...len

you have a great family and I know that with a family like yours, you will do great...

Clay:  Thank you for writing this tribute to your heroes.  May our soldiers be safe and home soon.

Those that put there selves in harms way for the sake of their country for what ever political reasons deserve all the support they can get, nicely written Clay and appreciated no doubt by a great many.

I support every single man and woman in our Armed Forces...wherever they are but especially those stationed in harm's way.

I always have and I always will!

They are all heroes as far as I'm concerned!

Heroes they truly are, Clay. You have done a great job with this, and I know that our military men and women will truly appreciate it.

I'm proud of you!
