The River Cries
We have a legend about our small country river
Some say what ever you wish for it will deliver
There is a large rock right where the river bends
The place two young lovers met their tragic ends
Forbidden to love each other from the very start
They went to this spot and pledged their heart
Then standing on that rock they both jumped and died
People say the river swelled from the tears they cried
Old folks say visit the rock just at the midnight hour
Whisper your wish on the rock and drop a wild flower
It will carry your wish slowly to where the lovers went
If you are true of heart what you want will soon be sent

Because the lovers went there and got their eternal wish

Awwww... *sniffle*.....this is such a sad legend Steve. It seems the more lovers are forced apart the more they want to be together. You have a marvelous imagination. I've enjoyed this!

Beautiful and I like the story behind the write, loved the flow.
Tragic romances are always a classic read, because they grab your attention from the
get-go..just like this.
Thank you sharing! Happy week to you..
