The flame of love
A heart cries in the darkness
For a love that is denied
Passion in it's purest form
Depth intensified

Another heart clings to shame
Not knowing what loves' in store
Praying for a second chance
With love forevermore

The two hearts join
With a love so genuine and true
Pleasure will consume them
Like a fire they can't undo

They love to their heart's desire
Out of honor and respect
Waiting for a sign of hope
Not getting what they'd expect

Pain follows pleasure
As consequences mount
Was the love worth the fire
Can the hearts bear to live without

Can  destiny be so cruel
Or is fate to blame
Torture of two hearts
Surrendering to the flame
