Gone, vanished is another year
What lies ahead, has yet to appear
This year past, has brought greed and death
We face the future holding our collective breath
What will be, we just do not know
Yet there is hope for our better side to show
Now's the time to lay down guns and swords
Cherish the world we live in and share in it's rewards
There are no guarantees beyond today
Enjoy what you have, live, love and play
Can we rise above basic human instinct?
Wake up before it's too late, and we become extinct

I suggest we don't hold our breath!

I don't think we will ever move far away from where we are now, but it would be nice if just once, we could pick up a paper/turn on the news, and the world was just humming along smoothly. Great write Henry.

We are too  much about have to have and less about enjoy and be thankful.  Each year I become more disheartened with humans.  I have come to the conclusion that I really don't like people very much.

An excellent piece Henry.  ~Pamela

Good thoughts to greet the day with here Henry! We have much to learn still as men, and I am not at all sure we will accomplish it in my lifetime, although we teach it to children daily. We seem to forget it when we become adults.
I offer to you this edge of New Year's, a load of love, peace, happiness and good health. May you be blessed as much as you have blessed the lives of those around you..
Happy New Year Henry, maybe this will be the year we wake up..
