i was 19 and green with a new m16 and a rusty old colt 1911 crawling through the trenches bombs going off all around death was in the air i never made it home i was just left there i gave my life for your freedom and not one thanks i got as i lay here and rott i hope you never forgot im laying in a box but without thought i would do it again fight along side those brave men so live life for all that its worth before they lay you in the dirt
