Terminal Illness

If I were to kiss you,

Would you promise to heal?

If I am giving you all this heart,

Will you please not tear it apart?

If I love you with all my mind and soul,

Can you please love me back?

I know you'd circle the world for me,

But would you save me from their attacks?

If I were to kiss you,

Will you promise not to break me?

If I were to kiss you,

...which I'm about to do,

Will you promise to kiss me back?

I want to kiss you,

To heal your so precious smile.

I want to hold you,

And keep you safe for a while.

I want to present you

With the prettiest bouquet.

If I were to kiss you right now,

And hold you safely in my arms.

I know you'd find it in yourself

To live out the end of today.

Author's Notes:
I was just thinking..what if mygirl had a sickness that couldn't be healed..then we would only have one day to live together.

I know what you mean. I remember when my former girlfriend had a serious drug addiction and I was concerned every day that I would find her dead from an overdose.

Can definately relate here.
