Psalm 1144

Some of what my Mother taught,

I've rejected, going my own way,

While some of my Father's teaching,

I've ignored, thinking my way was better,

Thus I've been led into sin,

Now I'm bound by cords that I cannot  break.

I stop for a while,

Then return to that which shames me,

Prolonging my suffering,

I've left my first Love.

Seeing where I've fallen,

I repent, Father,

Help me, that I may do my first works.

I ask this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty,

Who was, and is, and is to come.

Herman Salazar, Jr.

Author's Notes:

Like most people who believe in a higher power, I believe in God.  I title my work 'Psalm' because this is my way of  believing he hears me.
