“Carpe Diem” Seize The Day

“Carpe Diem”

Seize The Day

A saddened heart finds reprieve.

This is unimaginable to conceive.

Or a butterfly flutters by when we are low.

Then a smile, upon our face, begins to grow.

Often the storms in our lives are cold and fierce.

But the rainbow, through the darkness, does pierce.

It is then that we appreciate what we have the most.

Once again we find life from what was once a ghost.

The past is not intended to dwell upon.

Focus on today and your battle will be won.

Live your life each and every day to the fullest.

And when skies turn dark don’t be depressed.

Love with all your heart is what I always say.

Enjoy the moment while today is still today.

For in one heartbeat it could all be gone.

Enjoy night shadows and anticipate the dawn.

Author's Notes:
The origin source for the Latin phrase,
"Seize The Day"  is from Horace - in Odes Book I:
Dum loquimur, fugerit invida aetas:
Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero
Which translates as:
While we're talking, envious time is fleeing:
Seize the day, put no trust in the future.
These are excellent words to live by!

This poem is beautiful!  I always try to find the beauty in my day.  It is not an easy task.  This poem reflects on myown philosophy.  Live for today, because tomorrow is not a promise!!  Great job!!

The title really caught my eye, this is beautiful.  It seems like such a simple concept... "Seize the day", I think the real work is figuring out where to begin. lol.

This is wonderful Ham.

Love, Rin

Gives a whole new meaning to "no time like the present," eh? It's all what we choose to make of it, the present. May everyone choose to "seize the day" and make it the best possible for themselves and everyone around them.
